Este artigo mostra que as simulações para o projeto de leiaute de um ambiente colaborativo evidenciam questões relativas à futura organização do trabalho. Diversos ambientes colaborativos estão sendo criados em projetos conhecidos, na indústria offshore, como Integrated Operations. A dinâmica participativa e o uso dos leiautes propostos para o novo espaço foram as principais características do processo de simulação utilizado nesta pesquisa. Mais do que discussões a respeito de mobiliário e arranjo físico das salas, as reuniões de simulação se transformaram em discussões sobre o número de operadores necessários e o futuro processo de trabalho.

This article shows that the simulations for the layout design of a collaborative environment highlight issues related to the future organization of the work. Several collaborative environments are being created in well-known offshore projects such as Integrated Operations. The participatory dynamics and the use of proposed layouts for the new space were the main characteristics of the simulation process used in this research. More than discussions on the furniture and physical arrangement of the rooms, the simulation meetings turned into discussions about the number of operators needed and the future work process.
