O espaço universitário, reconhecido como paradigma de democracia, deve ter um planejamento físico- espacial que permita livre acesso da sociedade acadêmica, tenha ela ou não deficiência. Este artigo apresenta os resultados parciais do Projeto INCLUIR 2011 “UFPB para todos: eliminando barreiras”, que oferece subsídios à inserção da universidade no contexto da acessibilidade, propondo a eliminação de barreiras, por meio da elaboração de um projeto arquitetônico para uma rota acessível no Campus I da Universidade Federal da Paraíba e execução física de um trecho piloto dessa rota, interligando seus edifícios mais representativos. A metodologia aplicada reuniu técnicas como o walkthrough, a vivência de acessibilidade e a aplicação de um roteiro de avaliação, gerando um diagnóstico detalhado que permitiu a escolha do trecho piloto, interligando a biblioteca central ao restaurante universitário, espaços amplamente utilizados pela população. O projeto desse trecho, com cerca de 185m, contempla as diretrizes gerais que serão adotadas no projeto de toda a rota e sua execução permitirá a aplicação de testes de verificação e ajustes no projeto. Assim, a UFPB tornar-se-á mais inclusiva.

The university area, recognized as a paradigm of democracy, must have a physical-spatial planning to allow free access of the academic society, has or not it disabled. This article presents partial results of Project 2011 INCLUIR "UFPB for all: removing barriers," offering subsidies to the insertion of the university in the context of accessibility, proposing the elimination of barriers through the development of an architectural design for an accessible route on Campus I of Federal University of Paraiba and implementation of a pilot segment, linking its most representative buildings. The methodology applied combines techniques such as the walkthrough, the experience of accessibility and application of a guide for valuation, generating a detailed diagnosis that allowed the choice of pilot segment that connects the central library at the university restaurant, spaces used widely by the population. The design of this patch, with about 185m, includes general guidelines to be adopted in the larger project and its implementation will allow the application of verification tests and adjustments in the project. Thus UFPB will become more inclusive.
